4440 | The article deals with the peculiarities of the use of euphemisms and dysphemisms belonging to the functionalsemantic field of death. Euphemisms became important bricks in the walls people have built to keep the dead from making them uncomfortable. The most fertile ground for euphemizing is one where open discussion of a topic is taboo. So it was with sex in the Victorian era, and so it became with death after World War II. Postwar advice books counseled parents to avoid talking about this subject with their children. Having done their best to avoid anything connected with the dying and dead, English-speaking communities replaced associated expressions considered too direct with soothing alternatives. The words ‘passed away’, or simply ‘passed’, and ‘gone’ are the most prevalent synonyms for ‘died’. Much has been written on the psychology of denying imminent death. Euphemisms clearly have an important role to play in this denial process. Growing interest in death and dying during recent decades, supported by several publications on the subject, suggests a certain willingness to face the topic squarely in print. This willingness, however, is not reflected in everyday discourse which can be proved by mass literature contexts. In addition to euphemisms there exist various dysphemisms and slang words. Like euphemisms, dysphemisms are motivated by fear and distaste, but also by hatred and contempt. Slang expressions and dysphemistic terms of insult or disrespect should be avoided in speech and teaching a language. 4441 | The manifestation of the links between philosophy and linguistics in ancient China through the nominative aspect is considered - the first stage of the work of thinking on the formation of linguistic knowledge. The results of critical analysis of scientific literature, their coverage from the point of view of the stated problem, the results of introspective analysis, elements of the lexicographic analysis of dictionaries are presented. The dynamics of the interaction of epistemological, axiological and pragmatic components of nomination processes as linguistic realizations of the resulting directions of philosophical reflections of Ancient China is revealed. In this article we understand culture in accordance with the definition of V. Z. Demyankov as a set of nationally conditioned standards and patterns of behavior. In this case, a clear boundary is drawn between culture and civilization. Civilization in this article is characterized as a matrix of supranational standards and patterns of human behavior. According to the opinion of the prominent orientalist V. M. Alpatov, due to the factual nature of the lexical-semantic system, the names of objects, phenomena, processes, relations, etc. are the supporting framework of the system of relations of each national culture and reflect its related, imperious, structural and economic, etc. traditions. In this case, the direction and strength of the epistemological, axiological and pragmatic vectors of the nomination process determines the worldview factor, i.е. the sum of philosophical views on the world order. The pragmatic factor serves to fulfill the functions of criticality and veracity of the resulting artifact of linguistic knowledge - the name. 4442 | The article presents the overview of resources in practical phonetics published in Russia over the period of sixteen years. In this study far from the critical review we conclude the main problems typical for Russian pronunciation training. We found the traditional ways of teaching phonetics and defined their advantages and drawbacks. The article is an attempt at taking a comparative look at the treatment of English tones in a sample of ten teaching resources through the time of sixteen years. The selection of English tones for the analyses is for their notoriety in the context of learning by Russians. After analyzing the teaching resources we found the balanced treatment of segments and suprasegments which is definitely a great advantage of time. Also a positive moment is an equal treatment of pronunciation together with grammar and lexis. However till present days we can state the over-use of drill-like pronunciation activities, where the repetitive and mechanical practice is still the weakness of the analyzed pronunciation materials. Traditional drill-based activities are so far fruitful but the modern way of education demands inclusion of communicative pronunciation-oriented activities in the learning practice. The occasional use of consciousness-raising and self-monitoring activities is still a typical feature of phonetic classes all over Russian universities. It is a strong call for incorporation of confidence building and reflective activities in the pronunciation training. In article as an example start of a rocket from shaft is considered. It is interesting and a bright example of a task in which questions of construction of an effective settlement grid are integrated, thermoexchanges processes, gasdynamics and aerodynamics | 851 |
