The article gives the first ecological estimation of Cicerbita uralensis (Rouy) Beauverd habitat according to the scales by D. N. Tsyganov (1983). The ontogenesis of C. uralensis growing in the republic of Mari El is described, the scheme of its ontomorphogenesis is made and the ontogenetic structure of cenopopulation is studied for the first time. It is found out that depending on the conditions of the habitat C. uralensis can form two life forms: shortrhizomatous on waterless meadows and shortrhizomatous stoloniferous in fir-lime woods.

The article deals with the peculiarities of expressing the category of ‘measure’ in Modern English, which possesses a large gamut of various measures and classifiers, e. g. container measures, group classifiers, mensural classifiers, etc. To gain a better insight into the systemic peculiarities of the conceptual category of ‘measure’ the revealed linguistic means have been gathered into certain groups, which form the structure of the functional-semantic field representing the category under discussion. The core of the field is formed by the terms of the metric system of measurements and the traditional units of measure used in English-speaking countries. Hypoxic incubation was resulted in increased enzymatic activities of alcohol dehydrogenase and malate dehydrogenase (NADH) in roots and leaves of rice. The activity of malate dehydrogenase (NAD*) was decreased in roots and leaves of both plants under hypoxia.

The textual coincidences, which emphasize the “connection” and difference between Pushkin’s and Chekhov’s characters, are analyzed. The originality of the Chekhov’s view of the typical “literary” situation “The Russian on a rendez-vous” is disclosed.

In the article the one of varieties of norms that are in semantics of language units reflected is investigated in the aspect of modes of expression and conditions of manifestation in verb meanings. This article introduces the information about the absolute age of the relict bog, situated in the poligonal bogs zone (in the south of Gydan peninsula). It is established that this bog isn’t «relic», because it was formed in Holocene. The comparison of peat accumulation of this bog and of oligotrophic bogs was organized and some particular qualities of peat accumulation in the evolution of «relict» peatlands were identified. Also the article presents the botanical composition of the peat deposit of the object of study. The comparison of the Holocene climatic variations on Russian Plane and in Western Siberia for the oligotrophic bogs zone is considered. It is proved that for the reconstruction of climatic variations for the «relict» peat deposit in the Far North regions it’s necessary to consider the inertness of cryogenic processes.
