The article considers the specificity of the comic issues in the late works by Vsevolod Solovyov (1843–1903). In early works he revealed his mostly dramatic and tragic aspects of Russian history, and in the 1890-s the writer turned to the comic theme. On the one hand, it was caused by his desire to consider the novel “The Tsar’s Embassy” aspects of the dialogue of cultures, on the other hand, satirically depicted followers of spiritualism in the novel “Wicked vortices”.

The biographic sense of I. A. Bunin’s poem “Canary” (1921) is reconstructed in the article. The communicative status and “parallel” reading of the poem and documentary prose (memoirs, letters, etc.) have specified Bunin in the interference of two stories – a singing canary and a poet-emigrant. The author’s relation to the events, which have occurred in Russia of 1917, through the latent communication of the latter with “wonderful island” and Atlantis, comes to light. The research of “the canary text” of this period allows us involving Bunin into the context of recreated literary dialogue.

Zhilicheva Galina Aleksandrovna THE METAPHOR IN THE NARRATIVE STRUCTURE (BASED ON B. PASTERNAK'S NOVEL DOCTOR ZHIVAGO) // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2014. Issue 11 (152). P. 83-88

This article is devoted to the analysis of functions of metaphors in the structure of a narrative. Modern understanding of such concepts as discourse metaphor and metaphorical subtexts are being described. A hypotheses that the metaphorical fields play the integrating role being the bridge between referent and communical sides of the narrative is being suggested. The analysis of the ways of metaphorical indexation of a narrative strategy is based on B. Pasternak's novel Doctor Zhivago. Narrative strategy is regarded as a kind of interaction between the subject, object and adressee of discourse. B. Pasternak's novel implements the strategy of 'revelation' bearing such important characteristics as narrator being an impersonal one, the story being a 'quest for the sence', convergent position of a reader being programmed. This communication model is expressed not only at the levels of plot events and themes, but also by using specific metaphorical fields. This article deals with the particular subtext of 'cover and revelation' which is represented in the text of the novel by images of fabric, threads, sewing, knitting that can be found in descriptions of many different plot events and characters. Conclusion is drawn that the narration in the novel is a 'cover' for poetry and, contrawise, Zhivago's poems depend of the narrative events.

The purpose of the presented publication is to show interference of the culture of Renaissance and imperouslypolitical sphere in France and Germany, referring to the materials of Russian and intrenational historiography. The contribution of the feudal elite and especially of the governors of the specified countries to the formation of the Renaissance there is analyzed (French king, German emperor and German territorial dukes). The political problems which were solved by the authority by means of new forms of architecture and literature, specificity of court culture of the epoch, the Renaissance type of the person of some representatives of the nobility are considered. The theoretical importance of the analysis of the historiographic material in the culture of the Renaissance and the humanism presented from positions of “new political history” consists in the revision of the estimation of the cultural role of the European elites of the Middle Ages and an early modern. The author has developed a programm of social and psychological support, described its goals and objectives, logical structure, conceptual foundation, methodological principles, conditions of implementation, methods and forms of work. The portrait of a Russian high school student is offered, its social and psychological peculiarities are presented as structural components. Three main directions of psychological support for international students are chosen and described: the development of social and household skills of foreign students; the development of social and psychological characteristics of foreign students and overcoming negative phenomena; the formation and development of intercultural competence of foreign students.

The article points to idiostyle peculiarities of Z. Gippius poetic texts in the aspect of communicative stylistics trend – the regulative theory which studies lexical means of harmonization of reader and author’s creative dialogue. One of the ways of making reader’s cognitive activity efficient and one of the types of word-figurative text structuring is associative-figurative series. Its structure includes figurative and expressive means (regulative means) which make a reader pay attention to so called «main features» of text and assist reader in adequate text interpretation.

The article covers the constituents of the patriarchic perception still thriving in the modem Russian culture, and traces the influence of the works of George Sand on its downfall in the 19th century. The Russian literature of that epoch, both at its grand and inferior level, was affected by the transformations in the morale of the society, alongside with the penetration of the new literary plots, collisions, motives and characters.
