1 | In the article questions of formation of a phenomenon of the childhood in Russian culture of fi rst third of the 20th century within the biogenetic concept of development of the person which was domestic analogue judgement of a science about the childhood – pedologies are brought up. Philosophical and naturally scientifi c interests of domestic representatives of the given concept were originally realised into understanding of the childhood, its specifi city and value, ways and education methods, many of which have not lost the urgency and now. 2 | The article is devoted to the analysis of a secular (public and domestic) and religious knowledge in the process of socialization of children of medieval Russia. Special attention is paid to family-based care and education, as the centuries-old way of combining religious and secular aspects of knowledge. Parallels between modern attempts of introduction of religious knowledge in secular school and their historical forms of existence are drawn.
