LANGUAGE MEANS OF EXPRESSING SPATIO-TEMPORAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE CONCEPTS “LONELINESS” AND “SOLITUDE” (IN THE FICTION PROSE BY A. BITOV)

Information About Author:

The article deals with linguistic units of spatial semantics that represent concepts of LONELINESS and SOLITUDE in the art view of the world by Andrey Bitov. The studied art concepts reflect the author's interpretation of spatial representations of LONELINESS and SOLITUDE, characteristic of the Russian linguistic consciousness. The article describes spatial models of LONELINESS and SOLITUDE and their key features, such as closed / open, fullness / emptiness, perceptions of space (form, environment), shows localizations of actants (participants), describes situations in the space (coordinates, direction, orientation). The article presents identification criteria to distinguish the space of LONELINESS and SOLITUDE in their cognitive meanings.
