CONCEPT HANDMADE AND ITS EXPRESSION IN AMERICAN ENGLISH (BASED ON COZY MYSTERY FICTION)
One of the trends of the modern world community is the so-called “creative consumerism”. Handmade in America today is not just a hobby but the way to make money doing the things which bring pleasure. The authors of the article attempt to investigate the expression of the concept handmade in American English by means of studying the American cozy mystery fiction and determining the importance of this concept in the life of the American society. Cozy mysteries, also referred to simply as cozies, are a subgenre of crime fiction in which sex and violence are downplayed or treated humorously, and the crime and detection take place in a small, socially intimate community. Cozy mystery series frequently have a prominent thematic element introduced by the detective's job or hobby often connected with handmade.
