COGNITIVE AND CULTURAL FUNDAMENTALS OF ENGLISH JURIDICAL VOCABULARY
The article focuses on the cognitive nature of terminology which is directly linked with peculiarities of knowledge structure represented by various terms. The contemporary complex analysis of terminological and professional lexicon is carried out within the cognitive approach to language the essence of which lies in the fact that behind any language units there are mental structures of different types. The article also poses the problem of correlation and interdependence between notion and concept. It is underlined in the article that English juridical professional vocabulary possesses considerable ethnocultural potential. A lot of English legal linguistic units have a wide spectrum of cultural connotations.
