GENERAL CULTURAL COMPETENCES – THE BASIS OF MODERN SPECIALIST TRAINING
The article discusses the perspective branch of higher education development – competence approach, which is supposed to raise the quality of Russian higher educational establishment’s graduates greatly. The competences are divided into general cultural and professional. The interest to the Humanities disciplines during the engineer training in technical higher educational establishment has increased. Determines the role of the discipline “Foreign language” in the process of formation of the general cultural competences of future nuclear power engineering specialist. The aim of the above-mentioned discipline is the development of foreign communicative competence of the graduate as a member of professional communication in foreign language in industrial sphere.
