The article dwells on the word-building assimilation of foreign borrowings in Russian. It centres on the morphological and word-building substitution of foreign neologisms and different degree of word segmentation of foreign borrowings in the system of the accepting language. The author comes to the conclusion that intensive cultural and linguistic contacts find their reflection on the structural level of the recipient language.
