PARAMETERS OF ENDOGENOUS INTOXICATION IN THE SERUM OF PATIENTS WITH SCHIZOPHRENIA DURING THE LONG-TERM ANTIPSYCHOTIC TREATMENT
The main method of treating schizophrenia is the use of antipsychotic medication. The aim of this study was to investigate the parameters of endogenous intoxication in the serum of patients with schizophrenia during the longterm antipsychotic therapy. We demonstrated a significant change in the spectrum of middle mass molecules in the blood serum in patients with drug-induced side effects (tardive dyskinesia), which was manifested in higher rates of toxic and nuclear fractions.
Keywords: middle mass molecules, schizophrenia, tardive dyskinesia, antipsychotic therapy, endogenous intoxication
