TRADITIONS OF “INDEPENDENCE” IN POLITICAL LIFE THE MODERN RUSSIAN COSSACKS

The article is devoted to features of political life of the modern Russian Cossacks and its such far ambiguous and inconsistent line as “independence”. The traditions of “independence” assuming state-political and ethnoterritorial self-determination of Cossacks or their cultural-national autonomy, got a display originality in political life of the modern Cossacks. Actualization of ideas of “independence” has been connected with features of social, cultural, political and economic space of the Russian state of end of the 20th century, the revival which predetermined specificity of the Cossacks.
