CONTEMPORARY RUSSIAN PROSE IN THE MIRROR OF THE ENGLISH-SPEAKING CRITIQUE
The article covers the problem of perception of the contemporary Russian prose by the Western criticism; a special attention is given to the analysis of differences in approach and of national and cultural peculiarities of the perception of the newest Russian literature in Russia and in the West. By means of the contrastive analysis of opinions about L.Petrushevskaya's, V.Makanin's, V.Pelevin's works in the native and English-speaking criticism the major tendencies in the reception of the contemporary Russian literature are developed.
