SOME REFLECTIONS OF THE BIBLICAL BOOK OF JONAH IN RUSSIAN LITERATURE
The article is devoted to adaptations of the biblical Book of Jonah which is probably one of the first works of the world literature that proves the idea of infinity of God's mercy and omnipotence of penance. Adaptations of this Old Testament text in Russian literature is considered in the context of world literature. Among the authors who have used the plot and some motives of the Book are such as I. A. Bunin, Sasha Chorny, A. Kim, and many others Russian poets.
