THE CATEGORY OF DEVIATION: STRUCTURE AND EXPRESSION PECULIARITIES (IN THE ENGLISH AND RUSSIAN LANGUAGES)

The category of deviation is expressed by some broad-meaning words with the root devia-, their meanings being divided into two groups. The semantics of the above-mentioned words may be made more specific by analyzing their contextual correlations with lingual units representing the concepts which are included in the field of deviation. These concepts form the hierarchical structure of the category of deviation, hyper-hyponym relations underlying this structure.
