IMPLICIT MEANING AND MEANS OF ITS REPRESENTATION IN NABOKOV’S SHORT STORY “ KOROLYOK”.
The article deals with analizing the implicit meaning of Nabokov’s short story “Korolyok” based on the implicit unit revealing technique, an implicit unit being a linguistic means of clarifying the implicit information within the conceptual framework of a text. Taken into consideration is the key concept alive vs dead. The basic means of creating an implicit meaning has been found to be shifting realities in the pattern of the text , which refers to the implicit unit breaching the maxim of the relationship between the author and the character.
