The article deals with the analysis of means of expressing the category of deviation in the English language. The consideration of this category is connected with significant research interest in classifing different kinds of deviation distinguished by many sciences including linguistics. Lexical means of expressing the deviation category are allocated and their semantics in various contexts is considered.
