4 | The article outlines the theoretical and methodological bases of production of forensic psychological examinations. Gives the analysis of characteristics of mental activity of court psychologists-experts, the results of which are relevant for establishing the truth in criminal cases. It is concluded that an essential and necessary condition for the effectiveness of the professional activities of a psychologist-expert is the psychological component of professional activity.
