Myth and Melody in A.P. Chekhov's Drama // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2006. Issue 8 (59). P. 57-60

The article is devoted to the problem of time interpretation in drama, which is a crucial phenomenon in drama of the XIX-XX centuries. The peculiarities of A.P. ChekhoVs plays are pointed out In comparison with the works by G. Hauptman and B. Shaw, for time for A.P. Chekhov becomes not only a theme and prob¬lem but a structural basis as well, which makes his drama close to rnysic and myth.

In the article the sound (inclusive musical) content of the A. P. Chekhov’s drama “The Three Sisters” is considered. The sound and musical constituent of the drama is researched in the aspect of its ontological problems range: as representing the own world image of the play. The work is studied in the cultural context of the time of its creation that allows exposing the originality of Chekhov’s art ontology.

The article is devoted to architectonics of the drama “The Three Sisters” by A. P. Chekhov. In the analysis the specific character of the image of Moscow is considered. The investigation is given in comparison with the play “Die Jungfern von Bischofsberg” by G. Hauptmann that reveals the originality of poetics and world’s image of the Checkov’s drama.
