The question of the national problem in Saint-Petersburg Academy of Sciences in the period of the first ten years of its existence is analyzed by the author. When analyzing these documents the author proves that the Academy had the power which were ready and able to fight for the nation science in spite of luck of Russian scientists in the Academy.
