COMPARATIVE STUDY OF IMAGES OF WOMEN WARRIORS IN THE MEDIEVAL HEROIC EPICS OF GERMANY AND JAPAN
The article presents a brief comparative study of the images of woman warrior. The author investigates images appearing in medieval works, “The Song of the Nibelungs” and “The Tale of the Heike”. The various versions of the emergence of the image of the women warrior are also discussed. The paper contains a description of the investigated sources and justification for their choice for this topic. Similarities and differences of the images are identified; there also is an attempt to determine the causes of observed similarities and differences and to analyze them. An attempt is made to consider the image of a woman warrior on the cultural-historical, psychological, gender and social side.
