«The Myth of the Great Sinner» in the Russian Literature (the Stages of Evolution and Some Peculiarities of Existing)
The author considers the evolution of one of the pop¬ular plot schemes of the Russian literature in the center of which there is an idea of the moral rebirth of the fallen personality. Based upon one of the most important prin¬ciples of the Christian ethics, this myth has acquired the importance of an archetype for the Russian culture. The author exposes principal peculiarities of the «Russian version of the myth», the stages of its development and the diversity of its manifestation in different phenomena of the Russian culture.
