Different approaches to defi nition of notion cognitive style in psychology, cognitive linguistics, communicative stylistics of a text are analysed in the article. The article points to consideration of cognitive style from the position of communicative stylistics as a linguistically and extra linguistically represented and discoursively deterministic mental form of language person refl ection, which defi nes specifi city of its primary and secondary textual activity.
