On the Problem of Explanatory Connection in Simple Sentences. // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2000. Issue 3 (19). P. 66-68

The article is dedicated to one of the types of syntactic connection, which has not received its grammatical status as yet. Structural, semantic and communicative peculiarities of explanatory constructions are described in the present paper. According to the conclusion made by the author explanatory connection is represented in constructions of this type on the level of simple sentence.

The article points to expressive syntax constructions of up-to-date Russian in fiction on the definite material – Y. Polyakov’s works of literature. Functional and pragmatic essence of phenomenon such as insert and reduced constructions, nominative of presentation, addition and peculiarities of its usage in a text are examined.

CONJUNCTIVE CONSTRUCTIONS IN NEWSPAPER TEXT (ON THE MATERIAL OF “THE RUSSIAN NEWSPAPER” DATED 2012–2014) // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2015. Issue 6 (159). P. 107-112

The article points to analysis of one of the types of partitioned constructions – conjunctive constructions – usage in the up-to-date Russian language. Peculiarities of conjunctive constructions in newspaper text are examined. The research material contains publications of “The Russian Newspaper” over 2012–2014. Studying of the newspaper material shows that the most part of the conjunctive constructions is presented by partition unit which are used by journalists for the definite purpose. The article reveals means of conjunction that include coordinating and subordinating conjunctions, pronouns, parenthetical words, etc. It is pointed out that conjunctive constructions’ functions depend on genres of publications. Varied functions of conjunctive constructions as an element of informal speech in journalistic style are revealed: imitation of informal speech, facilitation of sense perception, emphasizing of pragmatic information and some others.

FUNCTIONAL-SEMANTIC TYPES OF COMPLEX SYNTACTIC UNITS IN THE UP-TO-DATE SOCIAL AND POLITICAL JOURNALISM (ON THE MATERIAL OF “THE RUSSIAN NEWSPAPER” DATED 2015) // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2016. Issue 7 (172). P. 119-123

The article is dedicated to the analysis of the functional-semantic types of complex syntactic units in up-to-date social and political journalism. Various syntactic relations between the components of complex syntactic units, their structural peculiarities and means of boundaries are examined. The material of the research is presented by publications of “The Russian newspaper” of the 2015. The functional-pragmatic essence of complex syntactic units with different types of syntactic relations is revealed. The study of the newspaper’s material demonstrates that there are various syntactic relations observed in complex syntactic units: enumerative, opposed, contrastive, conjunctive, consecutive. It is noted that in spite of various syntactic relations between sentences in the complex syntactic unit every such construction manifests itself as indivisible solid formation, which presents a message as a consistent communicative unit.

MORPHOLOGICAL-SYNTACTIC AND FUNCTIONAL PECULIARITIES OF SIMILE IN WORKS OF YURI POLYAKOV // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2017. Issue 11 (188). P. 36-40

The ways of expressing comparison in the works of Yuri Polyakov are considered. The authors define the morphological and syntactic features of similes and their functions in an artistic text. Similes, accomplished with the help of conjunctions as, like, as if, as well as the other means of connection are allocated. Among them are the special forms of nouns (genitive and instrumental case), other parts of speech (prepositions, adjectives, participles, adverbs). The most frequent in the works of Y. Polyakov are comparative constructions with such lexical means as a preposition as, an adverb like, an adjective similar to, a participle resembling, having likeness. The author’s favorite form of expression of comparison, as our observations show, is predicative units, representing different types of subordinate compound sentences. In the novel of Y. Polyakov, there are constructions with a comparison in the predicative center with a predicative-noun, which is the rarest in fictional texts. A specific way of expressing the phenomenon under consideration in the work of Y. Polyakov is a description of situations based on comparison. In content the vast majority of Yuri Polyakov’s comparisons have a distinct individual character, they are unusual, original and thus picturesquely presented an individual author’s picture of the writer’s mindset, involve the reader in the world of the artist of the word.
