| 1 | The paper regards school texts on the history of mathematics as an instrument for mental education of basic school pupils. There was worked out a system of the texts directed at the development of some components of cognitive experience: texts, favoring verbal-symbolic, visual, sensual-emotional ways of information coding; texts, directed at enriching pupils’ emotional-evaluative experience and so on.
