Obvintseva Olga Vladimirovna IMPLEMENTATION OF DISCREDIT SPEECH STRATEGY IN HEADLINES OF BRITISH MASS MEDIA (DURING THE EU REFERENDUM CAMPAIGN) // Tomsk State Pedagogical University Bulletin. 2016. Issue 10 (175). P. 54-58

The article considers manipulation of mass audience with the help of discredit speech strategy, which is being used in headlines of British printed mass media by adversarial parties during the EU Referendum campaign. It gives a brief outline of the British mass media and their views on the forthcoming referendum. The article claims, that discredit strategy is implemented in the following speech tactics: accusation, offence, intimidation and derision. It also analyses communicative devices and linguistic means which are used in headlines by each of the adversarial parties in order to put into effect the mentioned above tactics and, as a result, to implement discredit speech strategy in the most effective way.

This work develops the statements of works [1–3]. Author’s experience of teaching disciplines for the students studying in the direction of training «Applied informatics» is generalized. Some questions of techniques of teaching discipline «Document science and documentary ensuring management» are considered. The main directions of further research are considered. They consist in highlighting the activation of interdisciplinary links between disciplines aimed at forming the professional competencies of students. It is planned to continue modernization of the developed materials of the electronic courses intended for support of independent work of students in the study of disciplines. It is important to develop tasks for independent work which would promote increase in interest of students in studying of materials of the discipline. In addition, we are developing the funds of evaluation tools in the form of test questions, questions for credit. It is concluded that the use of e-course materials contributes to the formation of professional competence of future graduates. Further goals on educational system development are also discussed. We are going to continue developing electronic educational materials, reference books and seminars. These materials will be used for the formation of professional competence of students who are training in the direction of «Applied Informatics». The article presents the results of using the developed methodological materials. Besides, the results of testing of students in the section «Document and System of Documentation» are analized.

The authors analyze three possibilities of the organization of interactive training (the educational presentations, application of interactive boards and a video conferencing) when training bachelors of pedagogical education in the system of the higher education. The article substantiates the relevance of the interactive technologies in pedagogical education, allowing, along with the competences of vocational training of the future teacher to form students’ ICT competence and also readiness for professional activity in the conditions of the electronic information and education environment of an educational organization. Interactive technologies allow students and teachers to implement professional and quasi-professional kinds of activity both individually and in group. Such interactive technologies as electronic presentations, the possibility of using interactive boards, the organization of distance learning by means of video conferencing are considered in detail. The electronic interactive presentations give the chance to represent complex material with the use of a large number of data, to show the changes happening in the studied phenomena or processes which are difficult for describing by traditional methods. Interactive boards increase quality of perception of information, form the information culture of the teacher and students. Possibilities of a video conferencing allow to provide within distance learning interaction of educational subjects in real time. There are various options of use of technology of the organization of videoconferences in the course of training. The individual results of the introduction of interactive technologies in the educational process are presented.

In the experiences with the participation of 266 subjects it is shown that the expert estimations of eighty personal special features of subjects make it possible with the high accuracy to forecast expert report about professional aptitude of subject as the worker. In the experiences with the participation of 261 students of VUZ - Institute of Higher Education it is shown that the self-estimations by the subjects of their personal special features are sufficient for the forecast of the professional directivity of each concrete person with the indication of the probability of the realization of this forecast. In both experimental situations the apparatus for plural linear regressions was used. One half of subjects served for calculating the parameters of diagnostic equations, another half served for checking the accuracy of diagnostics blindly. Basic properties of radiation of the atomic chains excited by a channeling particle are considered. Using a very simple two-dimensional model of a crystal lattice we have shown that the main part of this radiation is generated on the frequency of oscillations of a channeling particle between the crystal planes, shifted by the Doppler effect. Angular distribution of the radiation of the chain of oscillating atoms is sharply peaked in the direction of the velocity of channeling particle because of coherence of the fields, produced by individual atoms.

This article discusses the features of the discourse generated by the students of the 5th year, studying “Theory and methods of teaching foreign languages and cultures”, generated in the implementation of the two types of speech acti vity: consecutive interpreting of a technical text, and introducing new grammar material in an English class. The research shows the existence of a connection between the discourse of one and the same respondent in both communicative situations, expressed in his/her use of a communication strategy – presentation, manipulation and convention, which is explained by the level of development of the secondary language identity of the respondent – a student of linguistics.

The specificity of the format of information and analytical program in general and the author’s program the “News of the Week” in particular is characterized. In the article we discuss the problem of formation and evaluation of pedagogical competences in the field of preschool foreign language education. Modern educational companies are in need of flexible and constantly developing teachers. The technology of portfolio is shown as one of the effective technologies which allows us to collect and structure all the information about the development of pedagogical competences. The teacher’s portfolio consists of a teacher questionnaire, English placement test, individual plan, project, teacher’s characteristics and selfreflection. It also helps to evaluate a teacher at any period of her or his professional development. The sources of evaluation are supervisors’ feedback, parents’ feedback and self-reflection. We distinguish four main pedagogical competences in the field of preschool foreign language education. They are communicative competences, informative competences, organizational competences and creative activity. We also formulate the requirements according to the three-level system of formation of the main pedagogical competences and the criteria of evaluation for each of three levels. The level «I know» means teachers understand the importance of self-development and they learn new skills. The level «I can» means teachers practice new skills at their lessons. The level «I can teach» means teachers can share their experience with colleagues.

The article considers the key features of communication as a tool of linguistic manipulation in advertising discourse. The aim of this study is to investigate the technologies of creating perlocutionary effect in American advertising communication. At the stage of the interpretation the vast majority of American advertising works consisting of few words are transformed into informative and pragmatic semiotic texts. Nowadays the US advertising shows a big variety of products with different degrees of verbal congestion. As a part of this study we have found a lot of advertising samples which include the minimum amount of verbal text: only the name brand or trade mark and single-phrase slogan. It should be noted that even the most minimum quantity of speech act expressed by the well-known and popular person lead to the greater intensity and immensity of its significance. Having analyzed the fragments of advertising texts we conclude that the informative congestion of communication is fundamental to its ability to persuade with the only proviso that by congestion we mean not the number of language units but the amount of their information content. The findings of the integrated and comprehensive study of the informative congestion of discourse and text can be used in pragmalinguistics, text linguistics, functional linguistics, theory of intercultural communication.

The paper reviews the projects on studies of the Ob-Yenissei language area in Tomsk State Pedagogical University. The problem of the research project “Typology of Simple Sentence in the Languages of the Ob-Yenisei area: Information and Argument Structure” sponsored by the Russian Foundation for Basic Research (RFBR) has been described in detail: a review of literature on structural and communicative syntax has been made, also the degree of the project topic study in the languages under investigation has been analyzed. The languages of the project do not give a detailed description of the subject-matter. The Praat linguistic program, which allows to divide the sound stream, will be used to the results of the study. The result is to form an understanding of the typological picture of the Ob-Yenisei language area with respect to the word order and communicative structure of the sentence. The article is finished with a brief review of prospective directions of the researches which are to be fulfilled on the materials of underdescribed and highly endangered languages. The indigenous population of Siberia has faced difficulties in describing the language picture of the world on the material and spiritual culture of ethnic minorities. The Ob-Yenisei language area has not been described on individual grammatical categories in the functional and typological perspective, and the problem with the lexical typology, and syntax, does not contain an investigation in the areal aspect. Thus, it is necessary to elaborate studies on small languages

The article is devoted to the unsufficiently studied problem in German linguistics related to the choice of syntactic subordination in the quantitative word combinations with the second component expanded by an adjective (participle) Nquant+AdjN and eine Art +AdjN. The material analysed has shown that despite recommendations of classic grammar reference books to choose co-ordination as a type of subordination for the syntactic structure of these constructions, the genitive and prepositional subordination still exists and is the most widely used one. Moreover, the hypothesis that the syntactic organization of these constructions is determined by the grammatical characteristics of their components has been confirmed.

In this work we investigate the structure of the effective action for a simplest model of the higher spin fields, free massless spin-3 field theory in anti-de Sitter space. We calculate the divergence of the effective action in the one-loop approximation, which in 4-dimensional space can be reduced to finding De Witt’s coefficients.

The article is devoted to the research of autobiographical miniature stories of the modern writer Angelika Sumbayeva. Classical works (M. Bakhtin, L. Ginzburg etc.) give the ideas of typological signs of poetics of autobiographical prose of the childhood which are observed in A. Sumbayeva’s prose: psychologism, retrospective view, lyrical modality of the narration caused by the attitude of the storyteller towards the hero. At the same time the volume of a miniature causes features of A. Sumbayeva’s prose: laconicism of descriptions, accuracy in selection of details; transfer of psychological state through nuance, details. The article alalyses in detail the cycle of the stories published in 2010 in the magazine for children “A Yellow Caterpillar” and built according to calendar chronology (winter, spring, summer). In miniature stories the features of art space come to light (including, the use of attributive features of the Siberian region, its climatic originality), functions of gesture, nuance, phrases in the transfer of a psychological portrait of characters, narrative techniques which form the author’s attitude towards the autobiographical character (for example, use of the narration in third person, but transfer of attitude of the child associating reality with the fantastic world through the direct speech). In miniatures there is an image of the natural world of Siberia in general, and the autobiographical image appears as typical, given in circumstances, recognizable, familiar to the Siberian reader. Miniatures of Angelica Sumbayeva recreate the world of childhood as a harmonious, open to the new, capable to take a miracle to transform the ordinary into the world of fairy tales.

The system of activities, represented in this article, is aimed at training students to proofread writing. The ability to identify errors is of high priority for a future teacher of foreign languages. This will help students acquire and master necessary professional skills and will introduce the idea of language norm, as well as develop the ability to analyze and generalize information. Evaluating the quality of a written text can be done in an effective way by the knowledge of proofreading exercises. These exercises can really help students only if they are conducted in an organized manner and the students practice them consistently. The system of activities introduced in this article is designed for teaching students proofreading and includes four units. The Introduction acquaints students with the symbols, used for marking errors and provides first training. The Practice includes different in-class activities, such as peer evaluation, proofreading students’ own texts and games. In the Assessment part the author suggests the criteria for evaluating students’ proofreading skills. Some ideas for Creative Work are offered. The content of each unit is revealed in the article. Getting students to recognize problems in their writing is an important challenge which is best dealt with in class exercises. However, the author considers the possibility of students’ individual work, providing they are acquainted with proofreading techniques.
