6051 | This article represents the metaphor as an object of research in cognitive linguistics. Language is a means of information processing and transfer, and metaphor is a universal cognitive reception of an assessment and explanation of the world. Being guided by our experience we express our opinion using words of certain semantics, the meaning of which vary depending on the context. According to the opinions on connection of semantics with reality we observe the language phenomenon of metaphors and its use as a means of transmitting emotions and feelings. At first we give the short information of a metaphor as stylistic phenomenon: definition, types, functions. In the XX century such direction as cognitive linguistic begins to develop. On its basis we analyze the metaphor as a means of expression of emotionality in language. The metaphor is considered as the capacity storing certain contents, in this case emotions. Emotions are classified as: liquids, temperature, movement, illness. Metaphor makes the speech more figurative and expressive. Keywords: metaphor, speech pattern, expressional coloring, usual metaphors, innovative metaphors, creative metaphors, emotion as a liquid in a capacity, metaphor-container | 725
6052 | This article is an excerpt of the analysis of the derived dialect semantics of verbs with the aim of studying the pragmatic aspects of linguistic meaning. Defines how estimating vocabulary relates to the expressive one and subjective modality relates to expressiveness. It was found that expressive word always implies the meaning of the emotional component. Assessment is contained in the derived verbs formed from estimating nouns, may occur in the process of word formation based on metaphor. Emotional assessment may be caused not only by figurativeness but also by intensity. Investigation of deep semantics of the derived words, including subjective components within the meaning of the concept makes it possible to understand the world of media negotiations of Baikal and Irkutsk region. Keywords: expressiveness; pragmatics; semantics; derivative of the word; evaluative vocabulary; subjective modality; emotional assessment | 725
6053 | The article presents some results of research conducted by the Institute of social pedagogics RAO (2003) and laboratory of theory and practice of rural school development of Petrozavodsk state University (2014–2015). The modern stage of modernization of Russian education is characterized as socio-cultural and is understood as a correlate of two trends – globalization and regionalization. The author compares the evaluation the effectiveness of the past decade’s reforms, given by the rural teachers, and reveals that the modernization of education in rural areas has not met their expectations according to the basic parameters of reforming. It is concluded that a negative evaluation is caused, in particular, by the fact that rural pedagogical community does not take an active role in the reform. 6054 | According to the article a general level of social life depends on the success of personal self-determination of young generation. The author underlines that successful personal self-determination of teenagers and youth is one of the major achievements on the way to professional self-realization, which forms a specialist in a field. In modern additional education it is necessary for children to study one or several adjacent directions during years of preparations. As a result the most successful children are good at several kinds of activity, however they are in dark of existing great number of others. At the same time the problem of seasonal crisis of personal self-determination of children, because of which searches of true occupation to liking can drag on for the long period, is frequent. According to V.A. Sukhomlinsky’s precepts children need periods for acquaintance with different types of activities, as a result personal and professional interests can be revealed. In our opinion creating conditions for children to experience a large number of activities, which they chose in institutions of additional education, solves that problem. According to the research, in the modern educational associations there is a practice of comprehensive programs, which involves not only the basic but also the additional direction of training and mutual training activities for the exchange of experience between collectives with related activities. However, in institutions of additional education there are not enough large-scale surveys which that can give students initial experience in many kinds of different activities, in the context of which the choice of the most interesting can be more conscious and obvious to children. From the author’s point of view, such methods as “open doors” promote personal self-determination only if they form the atmosphere of game in which children, teenagers and the youth are free to visit different clubs and elective courses with the feeling of an interesting adventure. In the article the author recommends to use game technologies in the format of “quest”; different directions help children find their field of interests. To sum it up, one may come to the conclusion that interaction of clubs and optional courses within the institution of additional education will allow to broaden the field for self-realization of students, that helps choose between the existing directions of training. However, in the article the author emphasizes that the choice of the directions by the children has to be voluntary, they should not have tests for a long period of time as among the variety of interesting kinds of activity children’s unripe nature can be in self-determination crisis. The author believes that the success of the action depends on the professionalism of the organizers and the leading teachers. 6055 | Introduction. The article deals with the ways of studying the subject results of primary school students by the teacher at the lessons of the Russian language. Aim and objectives. The aim of the paper is to study components of diagnostic activity of the teacher. Material and methods. The methods of the research are comparative and descriptive analysis methods. Results and discussion. The author of the research is studying the components of diagnostic activity of a teacher. Based on the survey of teachers, their position on diagnostics and the use of its results in the methodical organization of the lesson was revealed. It is noted that teachers often use the results of written work performed by children, which allows them to find out the quantitative characteristics of the quality of mastering the subject actions. It does not consider the individual difficulties of children in mastering the method of performing the task. While the establishment of difficulties and the causes of their occurrence involves an appeal to the individual survey of children, the results of which will allow the teacher to discover the problems of their own activities in the methodical organization of the lesson. Specific spelling paper describes the technology for constructing individual conversations with children, ways of interpreting the information received, the reflective action instructional activities in lesson structure. Analyzing the results of the conversation, the teacher refers to the search for their own “flaws” in the choice of didactic material, involving children in the learning process. Conclusion. It is concluded that the teacher’s mastery of diagnostic tools in assessing the quality of the subject actions of students contributes not only to the change in the quality of the methodical organization of the lesson, but also shows its research’s position in professional activity. Keywords: subject actions, diagnostic tools, individual survey, improvement of the methodical organization of the lesson | 725
6056 | This article discusses the epistemological beliefs of the oldest Slavophiles as A. S. Homyakov and I. V. Kireyevsky and the philosophers-Imyaslavtsev (the Name Glorifiers) such as Florensky, Bulgakov, Losev. The particular attention is paid to the problem of the relations between Faith and Reason. The article refers to the types of science – the science of Antiquity, of the Middle Ages and of Modern Times. The thesis is given here: The conceptual connection of faith and fair mind requires a special type of scientific thinking – the symbolic thinking. In this regard, there are considered the examples of symbolic thinking in the sciences of Antiquity and the Middle Ages. In the main part of the article is given the analysis of the conception of Orthodox science in the philosophy of Slavophiles and of the Name Glorifiers (Imyaslavtsev) in terms of symbolic thinking. The article reveales a definite relation between the epistemological beliefs of these thinkers and the traditions of Ancient philosophy and Western scholastic tradition. It concludes on the relevance of the problem of the relation between faith and reason for the range of modern human sciences. 6057 | The use of innovative forms in organizing university lectures is an actual statement of the present article. The article provides the proofs about the potential of the course “Folklore” for the presentation of a problem lecture. The structure and the methods of the problem lecture are offered to be comprehended on the example of the definite subject which is the novelty of this approach. Using comparison methods, going from the analysis to the synthesis, creating certain typological models, this article is an attempt to prove that the romance «inherited» the main poetic features from the medieval ballad; the ballad and the romance represent a united image of the world. 6058 | The article deals with the metacommunicative components, metacommunicative statements and metacommunicative situations on the whole with specifying semantics, in other words, the object of analysis is metacommunicative speech acts of the speaker, which represent a verbal explanation of the specific speech situation, specification, concretization of the speech act of the participant of the communication process. The article explains the practical significance of the use of such speech acts. The specification allows us to focus on the speech behavior of the interlocutor, regulate the process of communication and request additional information which is necessary for a complete and correct interpretation of a speech act. Metacommunicative speech acts can be expressed as particles (то есть – that is, да – yes, вроде – like), adverbs (точно – exactly, правильно – right, верно – correct, etc. ), and metacommunicative statements of the phraseological character (иметь в виду – to bear in mind, пойми меня правильно – understand me correctly), interrogative metacommunicative statements (Что ты хочешь этим сказать? – What do you mean by that? Слышишь? – Do you hear? etc.), metacommunicative statements (Я ничего не понял, объясните и др. – I did not understand anything, will you explain, etc.) and whole metacommunicative speech situations containing the action tendency to explain what was said. The research was performed on the material of the modern fiction (the fiction books of T. Ustinova “Uncut pages”, ‘Divorce and maiden name”, “Principle of the Magic inverse Act” and “The Third Thursday of November”). 6059 | The work aims to study the specifics of the semantic structure of the dialect lexeme travit’ on the basis of revealing its historical derivative relations and the reconstruction of the etymological nest and the structure of its semantic field, which is expressed in the lexical-semantic field “Harm”. As the study makes clear, the semantics of the dialect lexeme travit’ originates from ‘rub, grind’, proceeds to ‘consume, eat; exterminate’ and results in ‘damage, spoil’ (compare the dialect lexeme trava ‘edible things’) and that along with the derivatives of the root trav-, whose etymological nest includes derivatives of tir-, tr-, trav-/trov-, tru-, try- as historical variants of the root ter-/tor. The original meaning of ‘rub, grind’ served as the basis for the development of the other meanings, which are associated with the concept of “harm” in most of the lexemes of this etymological nest. The historical approach allows the authors to draw conclusions on the evolution of the semantic structure of the derivative nest as a consequence of the interaction and development of initially related concepts, expressed by the derivatives of this derivational nest. Accordingly, this allows us to trace the evolution of a certain fragment of the world picture and national Russian culture. Keywords: dialectal lexicon, derivative etymological nest, concept of “harm” | 724
6060 | Introduction. In this article we attempted to analyze the textual material of two multi-genre works written by one author. Our attention was drawn to the mechanisms of actualization of meaning at the level of words, phrases and sentences. In the course of our analysis, we also identified concepts that are significant for the author and described the role of concept-regulators in the formation of meaning represented in fiction and publicistic texts. Purpose of the study. Our purpose is to analyze the textual material of two multi-genre works of literature and prove that certain set of relevant meanings, represented by the concepts “ethics”, “memory” and “power” within the text of a publicistic work, will also be present in the conceptual-semantic content of the work of fiction by the same author. Material and methods. We have used the following methods: conceptual and structural analysis of the text, stylistic analysis of the text, associative-semantic interpretation of the text in the context of communicative and anthropocentric paradigms; morphological, lexical and syntactic analysis of the text with allocation of its separate levels represented by a word and an utterance. Works of Viet Thanh Nguyen “The Sympathizer” and “Nothing Ever Dies” with a total volume of 727 pages is the material of the research. Results and discussion. The study confirmed the suppositional hypothesis. The semantic dominant “memory” inside the semantic field “love – life – war – memory – sensation”, which we discovered earlier in the analysis of the “The Sympathizer”, remains analogous in the publicistic work “Nothing Ever Dies”. The analysis of the work “Nothing Ever Dies” confirmed the remaining actuality of the dominant concept “memory”, the significant concept “power” and also allowed us to highlight and describe the properties of the concept-regulators “ethics” and “dual”. Conclusion. The stylistic, syntactic, conceptual and structural analysis of the two texts allowed us to single out previously unnoticed functional concepts-regulators “ethics” and “dual” implemented in speech in conjunction with other concepts that demonstrate greater substantiality, but less functionality, such as “memory” and “power”. The duality of the concept “memory” is not an internal attribute of this concept, but arises under the influence of the concept-regulatory “dual”. The same is true for other substantial concepts, such as, for example, “power”. 6061 | The notion of effective action is central for research of many aspects of quantum field theory models. The exact definition of the effective Lagrangian guarantees the exact solution of the corresponding quantum theory model and in the general case it is not possible. Thereby, the problem of effective action finding is now considered as an independent direction within the framerwork of the quantum theory. Consequently, there is a need to develop superfield methods of constructing effective action and improve the already existing. This paper proposes the method for constructing of the one-loop effective action of N = 1 of supersymmetric field theories which allows to find superfield effective Lagrangian as an expansion in supercovariant derivative background superfields. As an example of the general technique application we calculate the low-energy action of N = 1 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory. 6062 | The paper deals with presentation of the value beginnings of governance quality. The author considers the key provisions which identifies indicative orienting role of governance quality. According to a second position valuebeginnings of governance quality are presented as a functioning of values. The important moment in this research is studying the correlation between values and goals: on the one hand, the value determines the goal, on the other hand the value can be considered as the ways to achieve more significant goals. Social and philosophical representation of values foundations of the phenomenon of quality management has allowed considering the explicit expression of quality through the “significance”, “value”, “ideal image” of management. Also, to emphasize the ambivalence of perception of the real and the ideal in the essence of quality management, the described aspects of functioning of values is presented in certain funds and ways to achieve goals. Socio-philosophical context allows us to consider the subject of research in the dialectic of personal and social, ideal and “empirically” real. 6063 | Study of traditional consciousness and peculiarities of popular culture bearers’ worldview on the material of textual dialect speech corpora is an urgent task of linguistic culturology and cognitive linguistics. Representative textual collections of everyday dialect speech only recently became a source of reconstruction of traditional worldview. The purpose of this work is a study of religious knowledge and ideas role and content in the worldview of dialect speakers. The analysis of religious subjects discourse fragments, picked out of a general speech flow, has shown that the religious component is a significant part of a general world picture and of popular culture bearers’ linguistic consciousness. Reflections on God, Christian saints, orthodox holidays and memorable dates of Church calendar, church services and rituals, religious writings, religious figures, trends and heterodox people, plots of Christian mythology occupy an important place in dialect speakers’ narratives. The notions of religious sphere often become the objects of dialect speakers’ reflection in their conversations with dialectologists. The religious subjects discourse fragments often contain such means expressing reflection as explanatory constructions, repetitions, periphrasis, generalizing (often evaluative) remarks, addresses to interlocutors with the purpose of checking up the degree of speech understanding, rhetoric questions. The communicative peculiarities of religious thematic fragments – increased metalinguistic reflection against a background of a feeble, in general, speech awareness of popular speech culture bearers – show that the elements of religious worldview are an important constituent part of dialect speakers’ cultural identity, occupying a central place in the popular tradition bearers’ value system. 6064 | On the basis of Carl Jung’s psychoanalytic theory about the collective unconscious and archetypes, the authors try to explain the Russian idea of “garden-paradise” and the importance of this concept for the national culture. Based on the work of D. S. Likhachev about the semantics landscaping styles, the authors come to the conclusion about the origin of the eastern art of creating gardens as imitation of paradise on earth. The paper also develops the idea of an undeniable influence on the formation of the East of the Russian culture. Compared features of Catholic and Orthodox monastery gardens. 6065 | The article describes the synonymic relations between the verbative synlexes and other nominative units with procedural meaning (in single word and multiword): verbs, phraseological units in narrow sense, figures of speech. Members of the synonymic ranks including the verbative synlexes are analyzed according to the following parameters: semantics, stylistic markers; case forms, which are used after the verbal combinations and verbs; aspectual characteristics, contexts of the use of the units. For identification of these parameters we addressed various dictionaries (explanatory, phraseological, the dictionary of synonyms, the specialized dictionary of steady verbal-nominal phrases). As a result we allocated 4 groups of the synonymic ranks including the verbative synlexes. Keywords: verbative synlexes, synonyms, verbs, phraseological units, figures of speech, stylistic markers, semantics | 722
6066 | The paper is devoted to the study of verbal formulae of attracting attention, which, without naming the addressee, encourage him to response. In Ukrainian and Lezgin speech communication such function is realized, as a rule, by interjections, particles and imperatives used by the addresser either because of uncertainty or extreme generalization of social indications of the addressee, or due to the lack of necessity (volition) of realizing such a nomination under certain speech conditions. The study resulted in determination of the fact that being the ethnos’ spiritual culture markers of a certain kind, such addresses are marked by ethnographic originality. 6068 | Characteristics of printed broadside epitaph are given in the article and a brief outline of its existence in the late 16th century is presented together with some notions about its place among other texts and rituals that shaped the final memory about the deceased. More consideration is given to the fact that there are genre similarities and distinctions between broadside epitaphs and literary funeral elegies of the period, elegy being more refined according to the standards of classical education and more personalized. It is shown that compared to epigraphic epitaph and funeral elegy broadside epitaph still has not got sufficient attention in historical research as a specific part of memorial literature, the article trying to fill up the gap. Resources of broadside epitaph in shaping the memory of a person are discussed, also some particular occasions of individual memorization are noted, though in general broadside epitaphs are shown as texts that were aimed to construction of communal memorization and communal solidarity. Some social, gender and national features most characteristic to depiction of the deceased in broadside funerary ballad of Elizabethan England are explored. Also the place of these features in the value system of the English society in late 16th century is shown. 6072 | The prosecutor’s office in the Tuva National Republic (TNR) has been formed in 1935. Formation of bodies of prosecutor’s office took place during the difficult historical period: very low educational level of the population and total absence of legal personnel. The legislation only arose and was imperfect. The work of prosecutor’s office was provided by only four persons. “To guard legality” was not only difficult, but also life-threatening. So, the first prosecutor Kara-Sal Pirinley has been shot for refusal to approve arrest of a number of heads of the Tuva state due to the lack of the sufficient bases. Voluntarily TNR was a part of the USSR in 1944 as the autonomous region. Bodies of prosecutor’s office should not just construct the work according to new Soviet laws, and to provide their uniform application in all its territory and by that to promote its economic development. Tuva was agrarian area. In this regard activity of prosecutor’s office has been directed generally to check of a state and storage conditions of agricultural stock in state farms and collective farms, in machine and tractor stations and the tozhzemakh (associations on joint processings of the earth). At detection of cases of the thriftless relation to their storage, damage and plunder, measures were taken: disciplinary character on the party line and criminal prosecution. Quality of work of prosecutors and investigators were checked by «audits» during which were studied the conditions of work, «political qualities» of the worker, the positive and negative sides of work of employees, thier mistakes came to light. The prosecutor of the region personally checked the compromising materials for workers, implementation of separate orders, carried out complex inspections of regional prosecutor’s offices. As archival documents testify, there was severe criticism, but in prosecutor’s office, and in the public the management tried to keep authority of both the institute of prosecutor’s office, and his workers. The mission of prosecutor’s office owing to features of the Tuva statehood has initially been connected with a number of the problems connected with a social and economic development of the region, insufficient financing and providing material resources of bodies of prosecutor’s office, shortage of qualified personnel, poor quality of work of employees, the rights caused by weak knowledge of branches. However historical experience of Tuva shows that the need for such government body as prosecutor’s office, with inherent only to it tasks, functions and powers, was especially sharp and was applied as the effective tool of the adoption of development of the public relations, as an indispensable development tool of the Tuva statehood. 6073 | Introduction. The article deals with identification and analysis of collocations in new type of user’s manual – For Dummies. The relevance of the study is explained by the increasing interest of linguists to the investigation of functional aspect in general аnd absence of specialized research of collocations in new type of user’s manuals. The aim of the article is to identify the types of collocations, their semantics and functions in the texts of new types of user’s manuals (by the example of For Dummies). Methods and material. The method of the research is functional-semantic analysis. The material of the study was the texts of new user’s manual “for dummies” Results and novelty of the research. The analysis has shown that new types of user’s manuals differ from traditional manuals in use of expressive and occasional collocations. The presence of usual and terminological collocations brings together new instructions with traditional ones. Special attention is given to the identification of the type of lexical semantic violation. Occasional collocations made on the basis of epithet, metaphor and oxymoron have been found in For Dummies. It was concluded that expressive and occasional collocations perform attractive, evaluative and expressive functions which help to realize the communicative aim of influencing the reader. 6078 | In present article there are the results of inner form analysis of idioms with the verbs of physical perception in the Russian and English languages. The purpose is to find isomorphic and allomorphic features. There are several types of phraselogical units but idioms are the most interesting for such analysis because they have the inner form based upon some kind of image. The inner form of idioms reflects the associative bonds between conceptual category of physical perception and other categories. The article demonstrates the analysis of inner form done by means of identifying associative models of phraseological inner form. The majority of the associative models are in visual perception that represents the importance of visual perception for native speakers and for the process of idioms creation in both languages. The article presents associative bonds of physical perception category with other categories and the similarities and differences in inner forms of idioms in comparable languages. Phraseological equivalents and coincident models of phraseological inner form represent the similarities of these languages. 6079 | This article provides an evolutionary approach to the linguistic problem of encoding and interpretation of a conceptual content by means of body part names in the Old Russian and the Old English languages. Applying the category analysis to word semantics in diachrony enables us to decode the primary links between words and concepts that these words denote. The diachronic study of lexical semantics provides explicational potential, revealing recurring tendencies and the prospects for meaning generation and development. The lexicographic data of the Indo-European proto-language create the necessary basis to determine the ways semantic categories of objectivity, quality, quantity, space, and time can adapt and transform in the Slavic and the Anglo-Saxon linguistic consciousness. The comparative analysis of the Old Russian and the Old English body part names and their proto-Indo-European roots adds clarity to the processes of category transition and semantics formation. The semiotic complexity of human body contributes to the expansion of the objective space of body part names by means of incident semantics. The conducted research correlates the inventory of the Old Russian and the Old English somatic fragments with their Indo-European reflexes. The results testify to the dynamic nature of categories in the evolution of lexical semantics, indicating the vectors of semantic change. 6085 | The study of the peculiarities of the traditional culture of the Old Believers is especially important in today’s era of globalization. The musical art of the Old Believers, in particular, their theoretical ideas, is currently not fully researched, and at the same time, they are an important cultural-forming factor of their time and a historical monument. Analysis of the printed musical-theoretical manuals of the beginning of the last century, belonging to different types of musical-theoretical manuals, allows us to see the clear direction of their authors to raise the level of art of chanting by means of a clearly arranged systematic training of Old Believer musical-pedagogical personnel. The emergence of new teaching aids and the development of teaching methods, along with the creation of educational institutions, have significantly increased the level of musical knowledge in the Old Believer environment. Thus, the Old Believers in the beginning of the 20th century made the first steps in the preparation of musical and pedagogical personnel. Unfortunately, this important undertaking did not receive its continuation because of the outbreak of world war, and later of the revolutionary events. The mass publication of musical-theoretical guides and coverage of musical education in periodical literature became a characteristic feature of the cultural life of the Old Believer society at the beginning of the 20th century. 6086 | The article deals with an analysis of the essence and contents of students’ value-focused orientations. Value orientations in their turn determine the motivation, i.e., the external and internal incentives of human activity and reasons for concrete actions. The main values of life, which have been formed throughout the existence of mankind, are undergoing significant changes in the modern social society. The moral crisis that emerged as a new anti-social phenomenon in the late 20th century is changing the outlook of the youth, placing material gain on priority positions. The study of the value orientations of students of higher educational institutions (HEIs) in the private and state sector shows that there are no cardinal distinctions between them. In many respects it could be accounted for by the immaturity of the private sector of the educational system, on the one hand, and the inertness of young people’s value orientations, on the other hand. Nevertheless, the study revealed certain dependence of a higher motivation towards creativity in the cases of fee-paying education and a higher consistency between the students’ value orientations in the private HEIs and the market strategy of the Russian reforms. The proportion of students with a creative potential in terms of value orientation in all years of their training is found to be relatively stable and does not exceed 30%. The other students’ creativity orientations are not only developing, but are maintained until senior courses. This is particularly evident in analyzing the responses of students of the Altai State University. 6087 | In the professional training of a musician-performer a wide range of problems is investigated. The question of the development of theoretical thinking of the artist has always been at the center of scientific interests, since the effectiveness of the subsequent musical, performing and pedagogical activity of the graduate depends on his decision. The specificity of the theoretical thinking of the musician-performer is considered. On the one hand, it is closely related to the content and logic inherent in music by its author. On the other hand, it deciphers the author‘s intention, in order to intone it in sounds for listeners. Consequently, the theoretical thinking of the performer from the philosophical standpoint is revealed in the dialectic of artistic time and intonation. Further, the content of conceptprocesses is revealed: artistic time, intonation. The creation of artistic time and its intonation are two interrelated and at the same time independent types of artistic activity. From this unity and struggle, the energy of self-movement and self-expression of the performer is born, an artistic interpretation of the author‘s design is created. An algorithm for the theoretical thinking of the performer is considered. This is the process of the afterlife of the formation of the musical form as a whole formation, where the form is derived from the content as a concrete from the universal. Describes the practical experience of the analysis of the play by Claude Debussy „Snow Dances“ from the cycle “Children‘s Corner” in the class “Piano”. Taking into account the fact that one of the main criteria of the Impressionists was the “living” attitude to the world around: the view, the moment, the impression, the predominance of colors, it is important to disclose in the work on the product the specific ways of the author‘s embodiment of content. All formative elements of the play are considered inextricably linked with the image. 6088 | The article deals with the peculiarities of using language quantifiers which express time measurements in Modern English. According to a widespread conception in the literature of linguistics and philosophy, space and time are deeply intertwined with each other, both in language and in underlying concepts. As both space and time can be measured the category of measure and its language representatives are inseparably connected with space-time system. To gain a better insight into the relations between time and measure the revealed language means have been gathered into certain groups, which form the structure of the functional-semantic field representing the category of time. The core of the field is represented by the metric system of time measurements and some traditional units used in Englishspeaking countries. The latter part of the core is rather small in number. Of special interest are inaccurate and unspecified measures, forming the peripheral zone of the functional-semantic field under discussion. 6090 | Introduction. The research explored representation of the concept freedom in the Code as a nuclear genre of legal document discourse. Aim and objectives of the article are to identify the specifics of implementation of the concept freedom, defined by modus-dictum organization of legal discourse and the specifics of the Code as its nuclear genre. Material and methods. The research material consists of the Codes of the Russian Federation, which are Family, Labour, Housing, Civil, and Criminal Codes. The selection of material is determined in accordance with the nuclear status of this genre in legal text. Being one of the main documents of legal discourse, the Code as well as the Constitution of the Russian Federation, reflects the foundations of Russian law. Freedom, as a key concept of Russian culture, is specifically represented in legal discourse. The methodology includes discourse and concept analysis: we observe discursive and genre features from the position of the Code in genre system of legal discourse. Freedom is analyzed through comparing this concept in the system of Russian linguistic world-image on the whole (based on material from studies already conducted) with legal discourse in particular. Results and discussion. We found that the concept freedom, in contrast to its common representation in Russian linguistic world-image, has a particular non-binary specificity and is transformed through the law. In everyday language, there is an opposition freedom (will)/unfreedom, and in the Code freedom is realized through a permissive (what can be done within the framework of the law), prohibitive modus (what is criminally punishable and prescribed through unfreedom, i.e. arrest), and a modus of obligation (what is required to be done by law). In addition, freedom in the Codes is influenced by their thematic sphere: there are freedom of family, labour, housing, and civil relationships. In opposition is what is prohibited to do and guarantees unfreedom (represented by the Criminal Code). Conclusion. Freedom in the legal document discourse is an officially recorded ability of a person to operate within the confines of the law. The Code as a nuclear genre of legal discourse transforms the concept through its modus-dictum modification. As a result, pivotal for the implementation of the concept freedom is the law, as well as the basic concepts of each selected Code – family, labour, housing, citizen, and punishment. 6098 | Introduction. The article considers the relevance of the formation of a foreign-language ethnocultural competence of high school students as a process of becoming a patriotic representative of their country in intercultural communication. The purpose of the article is to identify the didactic potential of the ethnoculturema, which is important to use when forming the foreign language ethnocultural competence of high school students. Material and methods. Theoretical analysis allowed to clarify the concept of “ethnoculturema” as a unit of education in the formation of foreign language ethnocultural competence, to justify and describe its types. These include: lacunae (interlanguage lacunae or reality), cultural background vocabulary and nomena (objectification of a person’s name and a place name). The analysis and synthesis of the works of leading researchers on the problem of lacunarity allowed us to identify the groups of interlingual absolute lacunae, which are necessary in the formation of foreign ethnocultural competence. There are the examples for each group, as well as their possible translation and explanation in English. Results and discussion. The author analyzed the possibilities of ethnoculturemas possible elimination, their most adequate translation transferring ethnocultural meaning in English. In conclusion, it is claimed that using the mechanism of “parallel connection of external cultural designation” is necessary. The meaning of this mechanism is specified with the reference to ethnoculturema elimination. The most effective way to convey the meaning of the ethnoculturema is a two-component connection for the lacunae and nomena, and a three-component connection for the cultural-background vocabulary. The examples are given in English with a detailed analysis of the mechanisms of their translation and transmission of ethnocultural meaning. Conclusion. The article concludes with a summary of the research revealing the practical significance of the use of ethnoculturemas elimination in the formation of foreign language ethnocultural competence in senior secondary schools.
