WEB 1.0 AND WEB 2.0 TOOLS IN FOREIGN LANGUAGE ACQUISITION PROCESS
The paper is dedicated to the issues of foreign language acquisition theory focusing on creating learning materials based on the Web 1.0 and Web 2.0 tools. Working in the Web 2.0 paradigm leads to considerable alterations in the roles of both teacher and student and acquires from the entire learning process more openness and participation. As an example of some positive experience, the author refers to the massive open online courses edX and Coursera. Their analysis allows to formulate a definition of the Web 2.0 learning materials as open network based educational resources or virtual learning environments that provide vertical and horizontal communication of the participants.
